Question:

How can I straiten out my scarf?

I have a crochet scarf, but it's not thick. It's basically only a single crochet line with crochet flowers attatched to it, but the flowers are curly- they don't look like flowers or anything else, really. It hasn't been washed or ironed yet... Will that help? The flowers are only about one inch by one inch, I'm not sure if ironing will help. It's 100% cotton too, if that has any impact on it.

Any suggestions or answers? I greatly appreciate it.

  1. Try just blocking it.  Wet the whole thing, then lay it out on a towel, shaping it to the desired fashion.  After it dries, it should be ok.

  2. For a fast way to straighten the flowers try steaming them. If they are flat flowers with no raised designs cover with a thin cloth and  heat up the iron and steam them to death, they should dry fast, if you want them a little stiffer try spray starch first.
