How can I strengthen my lower leg? I think I have shin splints.?

Have been getting pain for a long time now but I haven't thought much of it.

  1. I'd recommend three sets of 15 for the weightlifting. You can also try walking on your toes and heels before and after each run to strengthen your shins. One final exercise that is quite popular is "spelling." Lie on your back with your legs in the air and your knees 90 degrees. Feet should be together. Trace each letter of the alphabet in the air with your feet. It sounds a bit silly, but it should help with the shin splints.


  2. Lift weights. This will strengthen the muscles in your legs and will help prevent Shin Splints.

    Lift light weights wil high repetition, calf raises and lunges will help as well.
