I have gained my BA in English language and literature in an Asian country and my GPA in 3.7 out of 4. It is my main concern in life to continue my studies in English literature, in England, America or Austrailia. I also write English short stories and my French is now moderate, but I am working on it. I would be grateful if any help.

  1. You have several options.

For the US: One is to apply for the Fulbright Scholarship Program which is funded by the US government.  Go to the website of the local US embassy in your country for more information.  Keep in mind that this, like most other scholarship programs, is very competitive.  If that doesn't work out for you, research US universities which offer financial aid for international graduate students.  These opportunities are usually in the form of a work/study type of arrangement, like working as a teaching assistant at the university, helping a professor with his/her undergraduate classes or grading papers.  You could also try for a research assistantship, but these are few and far between in the humanities. Finally, you may need to combine this scholarship with a loan from a bank in your country.  To research schools and other financial aid programs, you should visit the Educational Adviser in your country.  Go to www.educationusa.state.gov/centers to find the adviser closest to you.

To study in the UK, visit the British Council (www.britishcouncil.org) to find out what programs they have to offer.  And for Australia, visit IDP (www.idp.com).
