  1. These websites will give you some very useful tips:

The most important things to remember when looking after budgerigars is make sure you buy a cage that is of an adequete size, and also that they require a lot of love and attention, so make sure you give it to them. Give them fresh water everyday along with new seed and fresh fruit (don't leave the fruit out too long though - 30 mins maximum, and check the websites I gave you to find out what you can and can't feed your bird.) Be patient and try hard not to startle your bird or force it to do anything. Clean its cage out at least 2-3 times a week.

After a month, when your bird has settled into your home, you can try and hand train it so that you can bring it out of the cage. Again, this requires a lot of patience and may take a few months.

Good luck, and any more questions along the way feel free to ask.

  2. Your budgie(s) should have 3 food bowls, one for seed, one for water and one for shell grit. Clean out the water bowl every day. Everyday blow out the seed husks and top up the seed bowl with fresh seed. Every week tip out all the seed and all the shell grit and replace with fresh seed and shell grit. Seed is NOT a complete diet. You need to give your budgie(s) fresh foods (never avocado) such as apple, carrot broccoli, orange and pear. They will also enjoy treats such as grass seed, dandelion leaves and milk thistles.

Your cage should have a slide-out tray. Every day tip all of the contents of it into the bin and clean with warm water. Every week put your budgie(s) into another cage, plastic box or cardboard box and scrub the cage bars, toys, perches, slide out tray and all the food bowls with warm water and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and towel or sun dry. when you have put all the things back inside the cage, put your budgie(s) back in. Your budgie will enjoy a shallow dish full of luke-warm water to splash around in.

  3. Change the newspaper underneath the cage evryday.

Bathe it every week and you can give it treats like apples, carrots. No avacado and papaya.

LEt it out everyday at least for an hour.

  4. its easy all u need to do is get the right size cage make sure theres fresh water and food every one to two days and that you clean the cage weekly  and u will be fine
