Question:

How can I take five seconds of a a 50m freestyle?

I know that it is A LOT of time for a 50 but, I decided that this would be my (very hard to achieve) goal for the summer. Any ideas on how to cut time?

  1. I found i could take a lot of time off my races by restricting my breathing into and off the walls (so don't breathe for the 5m into the wall or the 5m off), also increasing my turnover on my stroke helped. I also have a habit of watching the olympic swimming on youtube and taking tips from them, afterall they are the best. Good luck on improving your times.

    i went from like a 32 to a 29 by limiting my breathing and working on my kicking to really propell me through the water. good luck with your goal!

  3. yea. get totally psyched. EXTREMELY PSYCHED! and its  super short sprint so its all about technique. just pull like crazy and kick INSANE

  4. best thing to do in a fifty is get physched!! listen to music, cheer for team mates before your race..fast in and out of your turns and just be confident
