How can I take pics with my webcam?

I got a new laptop and I want to mess around and take pics. Every time I look for a program though I have to pay. Is there a 100% FREE no demo program that I can use? Or is there one preloaded on HP laptops?

plug your cam in, pose, when it looks good. hit the "print screen" button on your keyboard. then open paitshop and paste your image onto the canvas and cut off everything else that is not the pic you want
