How can I tame a 4 year old?

Question

How can I tame a 4 year old boy.

I mean like he' s the youngest but still.

He is VERY annoying most of the time.

But yet ADORABLE.

I don't want to hit or slap him,but I want to teach him that it isn't right to have it your way all the way.

I have a 4 year old who acts the same way. Just be patient and firm with him. If he does something wrong, put him in time out. We just bought a timer, and it has been working very well. He sits there and listens for the timer to go off instead of crying that he's in time out. We also just enrolled him in preschool. It helped our other son. Good luck.

i have the same problem.

i put him in time out or go on youtube and put scary barney .

he gets scared and sometimes doesnt to it again.

You need to be firm and consistent. My 3½ year old can be very trying at times, but as long as we carry out our threats (such as saying he will go to his room if he doesn't behave/won't get the treat he was promised etc.), then he is pretty good. Some strong willed children are naughty because they want to see our reaction and see if we react the same way every time they do something they shouldn't. Once they can see that you will always stick firmly to your guns, then his behaviour should improve. I never smack or slap my little boy either - you don't need to!

You tame wild animals not toddlers.  He is 4 years old...he is acting like a 4 year old...if you didn't want to be annoyed why did you have him?
