How can I stop confusing brake with accelerator? I think I ill give up driving?

My friend drives with two feet to prevent this. It sort of worked out for me but I gave it up because they told me it can be dangerous, however, when I got nervous today on my road test I confused the two and I am aware that this can be very very dangerous.I was so upset that when I got home I parked over the curb for same reason. I did not do this for a while, the habit had disappeared but it now came back because of the nervousness due to the test. Should I give up driving because of this?

  1. Dont give up

    PRACTICE makes perfect.

If you give up now you will regret it in the future

  2. This is the most basic of motor skills. Do not drive with 2 feet, your friend is an idiot. Personally, I don't see how any functioning human being can confuse the 2 pedals, unless you are not paying attention. Most people don't have to give it a second thought.

  3. That is something that you have to practice until it becomes second nature. I would suggest taking more driving classes or going someplace open and safe where you can practice as often as possible. Safety is important and the road needs confident drivers. This may sound strange but I would also try learning to drive a standard shift. You'll be so busy learning to use a clutch that the brake and gas will be like child's play.

  4. Just keep practicing.  After a couple hundred hours of practice you'll be fine.

If it's already been  a hundred hours of practice and you're still doing this, then you have an issue and you should reconsider driving.

  5. Don't give up, and dont drive with two feet (unless  you drive a standard.)

I strongly suggest you stay away from standard cars, they have 3 pedals to confuse you.

  6. I did this too, when I started driving. You will grow out of this habit with more driving experience. You need to find a way to be less nervous. Good Luck.

  7. No do not give up.Have someone go out with you and practice some more in some traffic tell your self that the gas is on the right side and the break is on the left side of the car.It sounds that you want to drive so get out and practice and do some more practice and the next time that you take your drive test think of something that kepts you clam. Good luck and want to see you pass the drive test
