Question:

How can I tell if a newborn kitten can't breathe well

My cat just had 4 kittens a few days ago, and one of the kittens kind of whimpers, and it sounds like there's a little echo in his or her breath. It always wonders away from the rest of the kittens, and lies on it's back. It gets cold too. I don't think he/she eats much because it seems distracted by something else. It moves it's head back and forth.

Also, I know I'd have to get it checked, but I don't know how because it needs to eat, so wouldn't I have to take the mother and the rest of the kittens to a vet too so they can eat as well?

  1. hi

i would ring the vet and get them to come to you.

if you take them to the vet put kittens in one carrier and mum in another ..put a hot-waterrbottle wrapped in a towel in the ones with the babies and make sure you put a cover over the carrier to keep the heat in.

but i would get the vet out to you ASAP

  2. Ring the vet for advice.

  3. if its toung is blue that means it has loss of air, you should bring all the kittins to the vet to see if they are healthy

  4. You would need to take mum and all the kittens with you.

If you are worried about this kitten i would get it looked at before its too late
