I know a phone number and I want to know if it is a land line or a cell phone. How can I find this information?

  1. You can go to http://www.fonefinder.net/ and put in the telephone number. It will tell you the type of carrier.  Good luck.


  2. Try running the NANPA "Utilized Codes Report" from the NANPA web site:

    http://www.nationalnanpa.com/nas/public/...

    Just select the state and area code to search on.

    In the report, look down the column until you see the local exchange number that the number you are interested in belongs to.

    It will tell you who operates that exchange.  

    From that you should be able to tell if it is mobile or landline operated.  

    If not, contact that exchange and find out.
