  1. Ask at the track what is the best lap times for your specific bike as most tracks or people running them have a good idea of what is a good lap time and a bad.  One track my son rides at you have to prove yourself capable of a specific laptime before you can ride the more advanced track.  Get someone to time you next time you ride, but you should be able to gage how fast you are by riding with other riders.  Don't pull off if someone faster passes you as that is not the way to improve.  So many people wont ride against faster riders when training as they think they will look bad, but the only way to get better is wait till that rider comes past and try to stick with them as long as you can.  See how they do it and try and match them.

  2. go around the track all day... have someone time you with every run... and if u keep beating it... might be good........................ but don't mind me.. i'm just a fan of mx

  3. You can always go down to your local track and see just how fast some of the guys or girls ride in what ever class your thing of racing....You will be able to judge pretty quick..

  4. That's easy, just go race and see how you do. It's not that expensive and if you come in dead last who cares. You will never know unless you try. One other option is to just find someone that does well in your class and pace them during open practice.
