  1. Very simple, as long as your not running off an antenna your fine, If you have cable or sat it wont affect you in any way. There will be no more analog signal sent via air it will all be sent thru fiber and coax or in satellite case a digital signal picked up but your dish. RT is correct but just like all engineers they over complicate the answer

  2. Put a very brave kid on your roof, with a aluminum foil hat

on. Preferably during a lightning storm. Have the kid

hold two golf clubs. You might want to consider a decent

    ground though.

Look into the FCC. they have a new digital box for the non

digital antenna reception.. Works fine. I have mine up the

House and the Barn office. In the moutains its hard to get

    anything to come in right.

  3. Look in the manual or Google the model number.  If the TV has an ATSC tuner, you are ready to go.

Most TV stations have had digital signals in the air since 2002 so you could also just hook up an antenna and try it.  Digital signals will have channel numbers with a decimal like 60.1, 12.2, etc.  http://www.antennaweb.org is a good resource for checking what is available in your area.

Remember the change next February only affects "antenna" TV.  Cable and Satellite systems don't have to change yet.

This answer assumes you are in the US.
