Question:

How can I tell if my cat has a broken rib?

One of our cats recently hitched a ride on the bumper of our car without us knowing and was thrown off on the road. It took several hours to find the cat, "Twitch," as we weren't sure where he went after he fell off and it was pouring rain. My question is, he seems to have a bulge on each side of his chest, though he is walking and hasn't been crying at all. How do I know if it's a broken rib or pelvis, and is it very expensive to get that fixed?

  1. You should call your vet and ask their opinion. Also, ask the cost to get it fixed. (I'm not sure) If your vet thinks that something could be broken and he needs to see him, then make an appointment as soon as you can. He may just have a bruised rib. Good luck.

  2. Take it to the vet!
