Question:

How can I tell if my contact lens is still in?

So I just started wearing contact lenses and I'm still getting used to them; this morning my left contact lens fell out, and I couldn't get it back in properly so I decided I would just take my right one out and wear my glasses. The problem is, I haven't been able to get the right one out yet and it's been stuck for like six or seven hours. Now I'm starting to wonder if it's even in there, so does anybody know how I can tell if it is actually still there or if it fell out too?

  1. Well there are a couple of things - first, does it seem like your vision is good?  If it seems like it's being corrected, then most likely it's in here doing its job.  If you put your glasses on and this clears up your vision, then most likely it's not there.

Second, contacts can be hard to see but try to get up close in the mirror and look for the faint line on the white part of your eye, just past the colored portion.  That's where the contact lens sits.  Clean your finger well and (if you think you see the line from the contact lens) try placing your finger on the line (outside the colored portion) and try moving it.  Good luck - if all else fails go see your eye doctor, we're used to things like this happening!

  2. Ooo this is difficult, This has only ever happened to me once with my colored ones. The thing with vision ones is that they are sooo difficult to locate. If your eye feels normal then mostly likely it isn't up there. Try to look in the mirror to locate is you cant find it then try to blink really really really hard. This usually makes my eye feel weird like I know its there Try it.

P.S Go to an emergency center if you are not sure because you don't want to sleep in them thinking it isn't inside you. Oh and lastly try to look for the lens it, if you find it then you'll know it isn't inside your eye.

    Good luck

  3. First of all, wash out your eye with eye wash.  Then look in again. Pull your lower eyelid down and see if it's stuck in the corner. Then pull your upper lid up, look down  and see if you can see it stuck somewhere. If you don't see it, go to an eye doctor and let them see if they can tell if your contact lens is still in your eye.  I had the same problem once. I thought it was still in, but it wasn't. It popped out and into outspace somewhere.

  4. well i have contacts too and its hard to tell if yer contact moved or if it fell out. to check rub yer eye in circles and then look if you can see obviously its still in if not it fell out. to be safe go to a optrician and have them take a look at yer eye to make sure it didnt move to a place it cant come back from.

    hope this helped
