  1. Chances are, unless you have given the government good reason, it isn't.


  2. Step 1. Check every jack in the house to see if there is a device plugged into it.

    Step 2. Check the Demark outside the house. The demark is the easiest place to set up a listening device (so I hear).

    Step 3. Check phones. Unless you feel comfortable with taking apart telephones I'd recommend just buying a new one.

    The odds of your home or phones being "bugged" is slim. If you are worried about the government spying on you then you needn't worry about any bugging devices in your home, they have easier ways of listening in. If you are worried about your spouse or an ex spying on you then the steps I outlined at the beginning will likely determine if you are being spied on.

  3. if it is done legally, the only way to know is to ask the cops.

    if it is not done legally, there is no easy way.

    you will have to walk the line from your home to the central office and inspect every access point.

  4. with today's technology ....no! we even have now wireless taps...landlines are still done via the phone provider mainframe!
