Question:

How can I tell if my scratch-off ticket is expired?

I found a bunch of winning scratch-off tickets in the basement, and I wanted to know how you can tell if they're expired.

It says to claim them a year after the game ended, but I don't know when that was.

Any help is appreciated.

  1. go to your state lottery website.

  2. all you can do is have them scanned

and they will tell you if they are any god or not.

usaully they are good for one year after they stop selling that series of tickets.

just make sure you go to a place that realy isn't that busy if you have a lot of them.

    Good Luck!!

  3. I used to work at a convenience store in college that sold scratch offs.  Usually, the tickets expire a year after they are activated.  You'll might see a barcode or a string of numbers thats a dozen or two dozen digits long.  The tickets are not active until the retailer decides to activate the pack in case of theft.  The retailer can also deactivate them if not sold, or they will expire automatically in the lottery system's database.  The best thing you can do if you really want to is go somewhere to try and validate them and see if you can collect winnings.  Don't go somewhere busy or with only one person working as it may hold up the line depending on how many you have.

  4. They should be marked on the back somewhere. If not call that 800 # and give them the ticket info.
