How can I tell if the plastic intake manifold on a '96 4.6 Liter V8 T-bird is the stock factory manifold?

Can it be determined by looking whether or not the manifold's been replaced with an aftermarket manifold? Thanks, and 10 points for best answer.

Look for a factory part number on it. An aftermarket manifold will have the manufacturers name molded into it.

hey yes they were plastic intakes and you can tell if you take off the upper intake the orings will be pink, new ones are orange

That particular model was produced with a plastic  intake manifold and were discoverd to have cracked in some instances.   you should have it replaced
