How can I tell if the someone I'm dating is an illegal immigrant?

I've been dating this g*y guy who is an immigrant but I think he might be illegal. He's pretty nice but some things are weird. I was thinking of moving in with him but if he is illegal I don't want to get in trouble. He says he is a citizen but has always refused to show me any proof of it. He has a lot of illegal immigrant friends. He refuses to take a vacation with me outside of the country, and I love foreign travel.

What are some signs of being an illegal immigrant? I don't want to turn him in or anything like that, I just want to distance myself from him so I don't get in trouble.

  1. Have them take off their shoes and check the bottoms of their feet.

If you don't see made in America, you'll know.

  2. I don't think there are "signs". I can't take vacations out of the country because I can't fly that far without a panic attack. If he flies with you domestically he must have ID.

  3. You have the right to date anyone you want, and if it make you uncomfortable to date illegal alien..so be it.  I don't think you will get in trouble though.  But that aside, you need to tell him your concerns, and ask to see his passport.  However this may strain your relationship.  The other option is to simly use the signs you have and distance yourself now with him and become friends.  I mean if he can't share with you about this then you should not move in with him.  I know a lot of illegals who are very honest about it to me, and we don't date or anything.  So he needs to be honest or lose your love.

  4. Tell him that you booked a nice foreign trip (as a present on his birthday or something) and you go together in ... days (on weekend). If he refuses that will show pretty much that he has something to hide (may be illegal status).

Where does she work? If there work illegals the chance he's the one of them is also high.

You can try asking him about what was his way to come to the US - to study, to work, on vacation? Does he have any relatives here? Knowing his history can help determing.

But in general judging his behavor chances that he's an illegal immigrant is quite high, it's too suspicious.
