It has five sections, the bottom is smooth, the top is rather furry, like feeling velor. There are five veins on the bottom reaching out to the five parts of the leaves. But it is deeply scalloped between the leaves. Has anyone seen a wild grape leaf, that looks like this. If it is safe to eat I want to stuff it with rice and hamburger.

  1. I would ask this in garden and Landscape.

  2. Here is some pictures of the leaves and some facts about them

  3. Go to the library and get a plant taxonomy book.  There are many ways to ID plants (took this course in grad school).  If it is in the US it should be Vitis labrusca, and should be a woody vine climbing up a tree.  As far as cooking, I dont know how to make fresh grape leaves edible, but I am very interested in knowing how.  This may help to get you started.  I could never find good plant ID sites on the web that is better than the books I had.
