How can I get the people in my community understand and help stop global warming?

I think that you should print out some material, like a pamphlet maybe, and then just go around distributing it. Tell people about the whole issue and then take a survey about their daily lives. Tell them about which of their personal activities is causing global warming. And then, tell them the ways to reduce the effect for that particular activity. Then, in the end, I think you should go for a more "emotional" talk. Like telling them that 'this is our only home and it needs protecting', or maybe, 'if not about yourself, think about your children and grand-children'. And, to get their support you could say, 'please do help me in the cause as this planet deserves it' etc.

I think anyone who has a heart, or is passionate about environment, or is even obsessed with it, should listen and do something. If not, well maybe they just are not interested.

And, also, do not argue. Just say everything very politely and smile all the time. That should work.

Posters with the statement  A Car is a Weapon Of Mass Destruction  which can either kill you in a slow fashion by Global Warming or by an explosion in an accident.

Suggest that while the focus has been on nuclear weapons but Oil Based cars are equally  dangerous in that  cars contribute to a slow death. The fact that Alpine Glaciers above Switzeland will melt by  the year 2010 might also be of use.

Do some OBJECTIVE research and then inform them that is actually is all just the biggest global scam this world has ever seen.

Global warming, the one Al Gore, started is a scam.  Good old Al is making triple digit millions off ever one of you.  Wake up and do your own research.  Mass media is in on this scam.  

FYI- A corn ethanol fire cannot be put out with water, so your car that burns ethanol gets into a wreck you are going to be burned alive.
