Question:

How can I tell the width of my Asics?

Hello,

I have a pair of Asics GT-2090 I bought in 2004. I want to buy a new pair of Asics, but I don't know my current width. It's just the normal width I think. Is that M or B or something. I am a male.

All I see on the inside of the shoe is 26.5CM, 8.5US, and 42 Euro.

Thanks

  1. Why do you want to know the width? I'm pretty sure all you need is the size...

  2. You should be able to assume those were standard width unless they say (or you remember) otherwise.

At least in the U.S., "D" is the standard shoe width for a male. It's not unusual to encounter some Asics men's models that also come in EE (wide) or EEEE (extra wide).

Your shoe would indicate you were wearing a size 8.5. by United States sizing, but given the way lengths and widths can fluctuate with new models, you should make sure to try on whatever you want to buy, or at least be able to readily return it should you need to.

Just because you wore a standard width 8.5 in the GT-2090 in 2004 doesn't mean that's what you'd wear in a new Asics shoe now.
