How can I tell what is or isn't a universal?

Concepts of the most common form are universals.  If everyone around the world tends to conceive of a thing the same way (regardless of language), it is a universal.

>>Water always flows downward

>>Wind flows from a region of high pressure to one of lower pressure

>>Air is lighter than liquids which is lighter than solids on any planet or

     moon

>>One plus one equals two

>>Bullying, insulting or abusing another person will result in him hating

    you. An unreasonable slap to the face of another person will

    automatically encourage a return one from him.

Universals are common things that are true everywhere.There are many in the study of science, maths, economics and others. Keep studying and reading widely and you can soon tell what is and what isnt.  Cheers!  :-))
