I am trying to figure out which engine size is in my dodge durango. I looked through the manual, and it doesn't say. it tell's you all three of the engine spec's, but nothing specific to my vehicle? under the hood it does not say nothing. I thought that it would say on the engine, or there would be a sticker somewhere, but no. someone told me that you can tell by the vin #, but I don't know how?

  1. also if your durango has the emblems on it still, you could look at the front fender emblems. it will say a number and which engine it is. for example, one of them would say 5.7 v8.

  2. http://dodgeram.org/tech/specs/VIN_decod...

    here.

Otherwise you can google such terms as

    Decoding VIN numbers Dodge Durango

  3. PS link  is missing at least one engine that came with the durango and thats the 4.7 and possibly the 3.7 v6. so  if your 8th  digit dont match  then you have wither a 4.7 v-8  or a 3.7 v-6

also  year of your durango  would help some. as in I think 04 they started to offer the 5.7 hemi
