How can I thank them ?

Question

Today my mom took me shopping because we're going on vacation and didnt have many summer clothes to bring

I just realized now how much she bought me : 10 tank tops, 2 shirts, new underwear &bra, new bikinni .

Then when my dad came home he upgraded my cellphone plan so I had unlimited text to other verizon cell phones and then 500 texts for other cell companies. And then they gave me $ to go to the movies with my friends.

I said thanks and everything but now Im starting to feel that I should do something else too.

Would making them dinner tomorrow be a good idea? The only thing I can make that tastes pretty good is lemon chicken w/ other seasonings and salad. Would that be ok? Or should I do something else?

All parents need is a thank you that you mean, and don't take advantage of what they do for you, it may be a onetime thing don't keep asking for the same treatment everyday.

I think they would love that dinner, if you want to do that.  Personally, just having my kids say thank you and mean it is enough.  Knowing they appreciate what I do for them makes it all worth it.  You are a good daughter!

that would b nice and if u still feel bad about them buying u that stuff then next time they r going to buy u something then say it is fine or something like that. maybe plan a day like tomarrow where u cancel your plans and spend a whole day with them like rent a movie to watch, play games, and make them dinner. i hoped i helped!

You must be one heck of a kid. Write them a card/letter, sharing how you realize how blessed you are. Let them know how much you appreciate them. Do the dinner thing, but here is the kicker, write this day down in your journal, and as all of what they did was a surprise to you, reciprocate. Surprise them every now and then. Clean the house from top to bottom, do the laundry and put them away, iron the shirts, etc...detail the car, babysit and save the money up to send them on a date.

Give them a big hug and kiss from all of us on Y/A.
