It's been running very slowly lately. I don't want any anti-virus suggestions. Please just tell me how I can reboot step by step, and what software I need or anything else I must do.

10 points for best answer, Thanks!

  1. Reboot means to restart your computer. You want to reinstall windows not reboot. You should take it to firedog don't mess with the OS if you don't know what you are doing write down what type of computer you have hp dell or ???? I can't help you if you don't tell me what computer is it. e-mail me the info so I can help you out or post more information on your question. Do you have the recovery discs, what operating system are you running etc.

  2. Youf computer probably came with a recovery startup disk. If you boot from this you can restore your system to its factory condition.

You'll need to change your computer's boot order. When you startup, look quickly at the screen and it will give you an "F" key that will allow you to do this. Switch to the CD/DVD drive and insert the CD.

A couple of cautions. You will lose any data that is on your hard disk as well as any software installations and/or updates. Also if your computer included trial software that you upgraded to full versions, that will disappear too. It's a pretty drastic step to take and it's not going to guarantee to speed anything up.

If you have a virus or spyware, it makes much more sense to try and remove it - but you don't want to hear that, so good luck.

  3. email me i will tell u there is alot of information needed for a step by step instruction set like the make of laptop and the year

  4. first try to run some clean up or defragment it before you go messing it up.look in help and support for maintenance.

  5. Start Menu ---> All Programs ---> PC Help and Tools ---> Recovery Disk Creation

Make a set of recovery disks. When that's done, put disk one in your CD/DVD drive, and reboot. Follow all on screen instructions.

    It's really, very easy.

  6. re-format your computer if you using a windows xp disk just put it in and install everyhting again and it will delete everything that was on it and u will start out fresh just gotta install internet and your other programs..same goes with windows vista disk
