My dog is a miniature australian shepherd but he can be very stubborn at times. he knows how to come because when were in the house or the back yard we will say to come and he will.

But he always finds ways to escape into the front by just like slipping through the door or whatever and we will say to come but he just doesnt listen and whenever he sees us running towards him trying to catch him he runs faster. He just loves to bark at other dogs so when he escapes he will just run along through the neighborhood barking at every dog through their fence and just won't listen to us. idk what to do because there will be a car driving down the street and he will just be running right in front of it so im afraid hes going to get run over one day or escape when someones not there to catch him and he wont come back.

i just dont know how to get him to come when he doesnt want to.

  1. put a good boy or girl treat in ur hand if that doesn't work then put there fav toy in ur hand if that doesn't work then idk

  2. get its favorite treat and show it to him.

then say "you want it? COME HERE"

when he/she comes tell it good boy/girl

continue this untill you dont need treats any more

  3. take him to a vet.

  4. If you want the dog to listen and come to ou when called, you might want to also start training it Sit, Down and Stay. Not to forget, come as well. Here's how.

    Sit :

Get your dog started off in a quiet area, where there is little to no distraction. You will need patience, treats or toys. First, you want to go up to your dog and push it's bum down lightly, follow up by saying " Sit " and praise + treats. Repeat again and again. It doesn't happen overnight...nothing does. So really, have patience. Soon enough, it will start to do it on its own. [:

    Down:

Get you dog into a sit postion, don't praise or treat (this also teaches the dog that not all commands will come with a treat). Then take the treat and put it in front of the dog's nose and " pull " downwards towards the floor, encourage the dog to lie down as well. Once he achieved this step, immediatly say " Down " and treat + praise. Again, repeat until the dog understands. This will take patience as well.

    Stay:

Get your dog in any position you would like (preferably, Sit or Down) and show the dog your treat. Then walk away, chances are, your dog will follow, so when it does, go back and get it to sit, walk away and say " stay " if it comes, get it to go back and reward it. Do it again and again, gradually, increase the distance. :)

    Come:

Get your dog to either sit or lie down. Then tell it to stay. Say " come " and wave a treat. If your dog insist to stay, then put a leash on it and tug it ever so lightly, so that it knows it is suppose to come. When it does, reward and praise. Repeat again and again. :)

You might want to train these tricks in the order that I have listed, as they do kind of fit in together. There is no " proper " way of training each tricks, as there are many methods and techniques out there. This just happens to be mine [:

    I hope I helped, and Good Luck ! :D

  5. Say "want a treat?" and they will come, my dogs are the same way, its so funny no matter what they're doing when you say that they get so exited.

  6. Calling your dog to you should always be a pleasurable (happy) experience. Always use your dog's name, and reward him generously (lots of hugs, kisses, treats) when he gets to you. You are his favorite person!

When you teach your dog a command, it's important that he hears the same word over and over so he can learn what it means. You can use 'come' or 'come here'. It doesn't matter which word you choose. But always use the same word so that your dog is not confused.

When you say your dog's name and 'come here', he should stop what he's doing, look at you, and come running. He should do it the first time you say it and he should be happy about it.

When your dog responds and comes to you, always reward him. Make him happy that he stopped what he was doing and ran to you. There are many ways to reward your dog. You can feed him treats, give hugs and kisses, go for a walk, play with a toy, or feed him a meal. The point is that your dog is happy to come when you call because something good is going to happen.

Reward your dog when he comes. You are basically going to have to retrain him because he is now set in his ways and thinks in his head that when he escapes, he does not have to listen. There is no extreme punishment so he doesn't worry about it. I am not saying to punish him when he does not listen. He just won't get the praises when he comes back. eventually after working on it, he is going to come to you no matter what once he hears that word cause he gets what he loves in return.

That's really all you need to do. from now on whenever you use that word to come, you praise him like he is a god for doing it. Every time. After a couple of weeks he will always come to you no matter where he is.

  7. put your dog on a leash by a door open the door from the outside ands say come while your dog is inside do this for about 15mins a day and your dog will learn the command come! when he coems out u tell another person isnide to say come and back and forth with giving your dog love and talk in a regular voice when tsalking to your dog

  8. don't leave his food out all day; then you can train him to do ANYTHING by rewarding him with treats.

  9. thats freekin disgusting lady

  10. i dunno my dog chews my fence up but wen i get home their waiting at the front to you show it enough affection and take it for walks and stuff? they listen to well mine does my mums doesn't always listen but yeah. sorry if i couldn't help
