Question:

How can I train my voice?

I have a deep voice and most of the time I need to repeat what I say because people don't understand what I'm saying or because my voice was too soft. So how can I start training my voice? Are there some exercises I can do everyday? Do I really need to scream all day to train my voice?

Note: I put this question in Theater and Acting because I don't know where else to put it. So for your information, I'm not realy into acting and that stuff. I just want help regarding my voice.

  1. There are scales that you can do but it's too difficult to desctibe via internet.

One I like to use though is....it goes like.

    1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 2 ,3 ,2 ,1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1

And it goes up and down the scale like that to 8, raising the pitch in your voice with each number. When you get to 8, you reverse it, like..

    8, 8, 7, 8, 8, 7, 6, 7, 8

    and so on.

It's a vocal exercise and a brain teaser.

Hope I explained it well enough..

If you really want to train your voice, though, consider getting a vocal instructor.

  2. Take vocal lessons. Just find a teacher get some lessons. If your looking for excersizes look for a scale for a baritone singer and  then sing it eight times. Sing for 20 minutes at least and that'll keep your voice sharp. Who know you could be the next American Idol!
