How can I train to run a 5k in under 23 minutes in less than a month?

I can currently run the 5k in about 29 minutes. What kind of program can I run to acheive 23 minutes or less in less than a month? All I do right now is go out everyday and run the 5k and i just can't get it down past 29 and some change.

  1. youre pretty slow

    trying taking longer strides, stretch out your legs more

    and try running with a bookbad that has some weights on it and make sure to put a pillow in it so it wont hurt your back


  2. Don't listen to the first two answers. The best way to get in shape to run this fast would be to train. If you start doing a 5K 6 days a week in about 30 minutes you will get used to running. After this week start running 4 or 5 miles two days a week and a 5K for the other four days. Each week only run 1 5K as fast as you can. This way you will see your progress.

    Although a month is not much to drop 6 minutes this is the best way I can think of.

  3. Eat healthy foods and don't eat or drink heavily for a certain time before you run. And what do you do when you run? I usually look down when I'm tired or bored and it helps me to focus without twisting my head everywhere and slowing down to enjoy the sites. Also, work out those leg muscles!
