How can I transfer my Xbox 360 profile to my Xbox Live account?

I started with a Xbox 360 profile and created a gamertag on Xbox.com and now I found I can't transfer my profile to my account! My profile has all my achievements. I've been searching constantly to fix this problem and it seems like this really hasn't been answered. I can't find a possible way to fix this.
