I had taken a ton of pictures on a trip and transferred them successfully to my computer. I later snapped a few more and when i tried to transfer them, it took forever as it transferred all the pictures all over again. How can I transfer only pics that have not yet been transferred? I have the latest Canon digital camera.

  1. When you plug in your usb cable, stop the file transfer as soon as it begins.  Then, using Windows, find My Computer on your desktop.

From there, click to open the icon that represents your camera.  You may have to open a few nestled folders, but you'll see your pictures.

Now, if you choose View (top menu) and pick details, you can see the names of the files and the date they were taken.

Open  My Documents, and either find where you are storing your photos, or create a new folder for them.

Click on and drag the pictures you choose over to the new storage folder.

By the way, it's best not to store your images on the memory card.  After you've copied them to the computer, delete them and format the card in the camera to prepare it for new pictures.

  2. Try using Picasa application from Google. Its amazing application to organize your snaps. When you import from this application, you can see snaps which are already downloaded and select what snaps to download onto your machine.

  3. Turn on your EOS Utility software, then click preference.

At the Basic Setting tab - Settings for download images choose Images not yet downloaded.
