  1. You need an analog converter, either internal card or external such as the dazzle. It's very easy to use and come with good software. You would hook your analog VHS camera to the analog converter, the dazzle and then hook the dazzle to your PC. The dazzle cost around 70.00 , but worth the money if you have a lot of VHS to tapes to canvert.

  2. It's not an easy task, you most assuredly need the hardware and software for this.

  3. It seem like you have a big project on hand, anyway I wrote a guide on helping out with tips on how to do transfer video to DVD. Check it out

  4. You need the AV cable that came with the camcorder. One side plugs into the camcorder - the other side will have Yellow (video), Red (right audio or mono) and White (left audio) RCA jacks.

These will plug into a video capture card in your computer - or you can get an external "Analog/Digital Bridge":

If you have USB only on your Windows computer:

If you have Firewire on your computer:

Use this if you have a Macintosh - they have had Firewire for many years and iMovie will not recognize video from other connections.

The AV cable plugs into the A/D Bridge. The A/D bridge plugs into your computer.

Import and edit with MovieMaker (Windows) or iMovie (Macintosh).

DVD menuing and authoring with WinDVD (Windows) or iDVD (Macintosh).

Your computer needs to have an optical drive capable of burning DVDs.
