How can I transform a plain white bedroom into a cool teenage girl's bedroom?

My parents are both 'less is more' kind of people, so they are planning to get me pretty plain stuff for my bedroom like a white headboard, white table and pretty much white everything.

I'm trying to 'fill' up my room, maybe brighten it a bit, so I can bring a little more 'personality' into my room. All my friends have great personalized rooms but I'm the only one with a white-walled, boring room. Any help?

I totally agree. My room is the exact same way.

My dad won't let me colour my walls and its bare white and it looks really bad.

He won't let me hang anything on the walls either.

We are moving soon so when we do I am getting my room totally furnished in IKEA.

First you need to pick out a theme for your room then the wall colour and everything else should match it so it doesn't look bad.

There are lots of examples of youth rooms in the IKEA catalogue so you should pick one up.

Their stuff is really nice and you will definetly find things that you like because they're really unique and will make your room look really nice.

They still white stuff, but if it's white it's fancier and not plain so it depends what you like for your room.

Check online on their site for ideas of what you want your room to look like.

If they won't let you paint it... Put up pictures or posters of whatever you're in to. Just because you have a white headboard doesn't mean you have to have a white bed spread. Get a bright bread-spread that is totally you. Put up bright curtains on your windows.  Think about getting a rug.

You can shop on-line for cute room stuff.

White walls and white furniture will allow you to infuse any color into your room. This way, you are not forced to commit to any one color forever. You can easily change the color of your room as the seasons change. How cool is that?!

1. Add colorful curtains and bedsheets.

2. Color coordinate your accessories.

3. Add photos and posters to personalize your room.

Well you need to paint your walls.

themes can be

Chocolate/Brown

Purple, Dark Or Light

even painting the walls purple and leaving white things is nice. Maybe get a few coloured things.

Just think of colours that match and then buy things like a new duvet. lamp shade. curtains. if your allowed paint the walls and it will be a total change
