How can I travel from Ag.Nikolaos, Crete to Knossos. Is there a bus? What about Knossos tours?

Arriving on a cruise ship early morning. Have about 6hours and time only for a flying peek. Is it reasonable to try to get to Knossos, run thru the ruins, and return (I've done homework and will be ready to see the site)? Or can someone suggest a less stressful few hours. I hate cruises!

take the bus from Ag.Nikolaos to Heraklion (costs less than 10 euros i think) and then ask for a bus to Knossos,it's not that far from Heraklion

Yes there is a bus almost avery hour but it's quite far and with the bus

you are taking a chance,it is about 1 hour and some so you need about 3 hours to go and come.

To see Knossos you really need a couple of hours so i guess maybe you can manage it. But if you get a taxi no problem,you have more than enough time to go without stress.

If you don't want to stress that much you can get a taxi and go to Elouda a picturesque little town by the water closer than Knossos.

You always have to think about traffic and how far is the terminal and all kinds of thinks.
