Question:

How can I treat and cure my sunburn?

I have a really gross peeling, bright red and raw looking sunburn all over my face and back. I usually protect myself very well with sunscreen (SPF 70 every 2 hours) and know the affects of sun damage so please don't lecture me about that. I just need some advice about curing and soothing burns. Also I tried putting aloe on, it felt good on my back but stung badly on my face. Thank you so much in advance.

  1. I've heard vinegar and REALLY REALLY cold water works to draw out the sting. Use a wash cloth and soak/dunk it in the mixture... just do like 1/2 n 1/2. I feel you pain though...

  2. Just put on alot of lotion... :)

  3. No way to heal it unfortunately...Let the skin peel and use lots and lots of moisturizer on your face and back to make sure the skin underneath is nice and healthy...Otherwise it could hurt for a lot longer!

  4. what would you put on a heat burn? Antiseptic lotion. You need to let it peel, use antiseptic cream and keep it clean until it heals.

It doesn't get 'cured', it's not a disease.

edit - Vinegar is an unproven remedy for sunburn. It's normally used for alkali burns. Vinegar is an acid!

  5. I don't think there is any way to get rid of it. I think your skin cells just have to grow over. Keep using the aloe and nice cold showers.
