  1. Insufficient information we need a design requirement. e.g. 120 Volts ac (50/60Hz?)max current 15A?driving a reactive/non-reactive? load.

  2. You need two power Field Effect Transistor, couple of capacitors and resistors to build a multi-vibrator circuit. Transformer is not needed because the power source is so high..120v DC.  This circuit produces square wave rather than sine wave.

  3. You can use an inverter circuit to convert DC to AC.

  4. I agree with the others.. what are you trying to do?

how many watts? Total harmonic distortion? mains freq 50-60 hz?

shaeferpower.com has <industrial> pure sine wave dc to ac inverters in the KW range (be prepared to pay $1000's)

$ 50 will get you a modified sine wave 12vdc inverter from walmart , just use that if it works..

for less than a watt power try using an oscilator and an amp ...

  5. You are getting this by connecting 10 car batteries in series.

This is a poor approach, as 120 VDC to 120 VAC inverters are scarce and expensive.

Whereas 12v or 24 volt inverters are common and cheap.

You do realize that car batteries are dangerous to have in an unventilated space?

Perhaps you should tell us what your goal is, instead of bit by bit.

  6. I never heard of something operating 120v DC. You would need some type of converter. Consult a Grainger catalog or visit an electrical supply store.
