You know-- like hearts, band notes, the works. I'm picking the person who has the most characters (for a laptop)

Thanks in advance!

  1. well im on a laptop and all i have to do is turn num lock on and the keys "7890poiujkl;./m" are the num pad, and you hold alt and press a combination of numbers to make a symbol. example, alt+789: § im on an HP pavilion, ive seen this feature on an acer aspire, and a toshiba satelight. most likely on others too.

  2. wingdings or alt codes work the best.

alt codes are, like, holding alt and (with num lock on) hitting 1234 or whatever.

  3. Search alt codes, and you'll find what kind you can make just press Alt and groups of numbers (only the numbers on the right side of the key board, not the numbers above the letters)

  4. you hold down alt and type numbers

    for example

    ☺ = alt 1

    ☻ = alt 2

    ♥ = alt 3

    etc

    theres a good list here > http://www.tedmontgomery.com/tutorial/AL...

  5. Alt+numbers from the side numbers

    Ex:

    Alt+099=ç

    Alt+8888=╕

    Alt+774=♠

  6. Some symbols will only work if you use the Alt key with the number pad. You can use copy and paste if you have one to copy. You can try the Character Map in your laptop under

    Start→All Programs→Accessories→System Tools

and try Arial Unicode MS. Search for the ones you want but only some will work in Yahoo! Answers.

Smiley faces etc do not seem to work in Yahoo! Answers.

    Some to copy

    §   ☻   ☺   ♦   ♦   ♣   ♠   •◘○◙♂♀♪♫☼ ► ◄↕‼§▬

    ▲►▼◄▓ ░

    ♥•*★*•♥•*★*•♥ ¸.•*¨*`•.¸¸.•*¨*`•.¸¸.•*¨*`•.¸¸.•*¨*`•.¸ ♥•*★*•♥•*★*•♥

  7. character map! there shows all the characters your computer is possible of doing. and it shows all the shortcuts (alt+...)

    here are two i use the most;

    alt + 14 = ♫

    alt + 3 = ♥

  8. Alt codes are available on everything.

Go to programs -> accessories -> system tools -> character map.

At least that's how it goes on Vista.

    XP is quite similar.

  9. Some of the keys have numbers on top of them like the number pad on the right hand side of a regular keyboard. If you hold FN and ALT and press a few of those randomly, you'll come up with some neat symbols. Alternatively, if you're using Windows, go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map

Open up Times New Roman from the drop down menu, find a symbol you want. Click Select and then click Copy. Then go back to the place you want to type the symbols, and just Paste in the characters you just copied. Good luck.

  10. Go To START, ALL PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, SYSTEM TOOLS and then CHARACTER MAP (best answer) xDD
