There is an application I am trying to submit for an internship. There is a link to a PDF file on the website which is the application. I would rather type my information onto the page rather than hand write it and I don't have access to a type writer. How can I type my info onto the application?? Please help!

  1. If it isn't copied protected, you may be able to copy it and paste it into a word document and then you will be able to type on it.  If it is copy protected, you could try a "print screen" which is a button along the top and the print screen does the same thing as the copy command

  2. You can type your info directly on the application by using an on-line pdf form filler.

PDFescape is an on-line PDF viewer and editor that has almost all the features you could ever need including the ability to fill in forms.  There's no cost.  PDFescape works with Firefox 1.5 or newer, Internet Explorer 6 or 7, and Safari.

I've used PDFfiller.  To convert the file to an interactive form, simply type the URL address of the form in the upload field.  The file will then be converted allowing you to type in the necessary fields.  There is a fee of $9.99 for 30 days access to your file and to print and save your file.

Links to both websites are below.  Hope this is helpful!

  3. You may use Adobe Acrobat Reader to read the PDF file and copy the file to MS Word you may now add your information. print it

  4. if the creator of the PDF file did not put fields into the file for you to type into then you're out of luck.  Your choices at that point would be

    1. get Adobe Professional software and create your own fields to type into (and adobe pro isn't cheap either)

    2. get access to a typewriter somewhere

    3. print it out and hand write it

    4. spend all day typing the answers into Word and trying to get them to line up exactly perfect on the application.  The print out the form, print out your answers.  Take the form and put in to a copy machine, copy your answers on top of the form.

options 2 or 3 are your best options :-)))

  5. One thing you can't do is "copy the file to Word." That can't be done. Only if you have Adobe Acrobat can you type on most PDF forms. Many of them allow you to type and print, but not save the information. Otherwise, download and print the application and fill it out by hand. Sorry, but there aren't many options here.
