Question:

How can I undo a sort in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet???

I accidentally only sorted one column, now everything is mixed up. I go to edit, and the "undo" button is greyed out, and says can't undo... Please help!!!!

If you haven't got a formula open in the formula bar, which greys out the undo button amongst others, it sounds like you saved your spreadsheet, or the automatic save facility saved your spreadsheet.  Either way, you can't undo the sort.  The only way out is to re-sort them into the order they were before if you can.

    You can disable the AutoRecover facility by clicking on Tools > Options > Save tab.  If I'm working on a complex or large spreadsheet, I tend to make a 'work-in-progress' copy at intervals by holding down the Ctrl key, left-clicking on the spreadsheet tab until a little page sign appears and then moving this page along the tab bar.  When you release the left-click, a duplicate copy will be created.  Then if you discover a problem, even the next day, you can hopefully copy & paste your way out of it.
