  1. overclock! ^^

i suggest u dont overclock. simply buy a new processor. :p

  2. Go to a computer shop and ask how much those specs cost, have your budget ready and your good to go. Goodluck and have a nice time using your newly upgraded computer.

  3. First you need to find out if the processor is socketed (otherwise you'll need to desolder hundreds of really small pins, not worth doing), it probably is though (although Dell would mainly have a socketed processor in it for their convenience when building to order, not for you to upgrade the processor).

Then you need to find out what processors have been tested in your hardware so that you can get one (as well as update the BIOS just to make sure it'll work).  Don't buy a new processor without that step as the BIOS will only work with specific processors the laptop manufacturer has programmed into it as being able to be cooled by the laptop's cooling system.

Then once you've done that you can open the computer up (if you want to do it yourself you should really get a service manual from somewhere, such as say, the internet).

Whether upgrading from 1.83 GHz to a bit more than 2 GHz is actually worth doing is another matter, it may well not offer enough performance gain to be worth it.
