My phone series is dopod(touch screen). There is no 3G interface including in the phone. Many phone used in japan usually is the product of phone company the region and comes with 3G interface. Buying a new phone is too expensive for me. I just wonder if my phone compatible with CDMA? If I can where can I buy one?

Any comments?

Thanks you for your attention.

  1. Hi Jane

Japan works on a technology called WCDMA (not CDMA)

Their network is WCDMA1700 and WCDMA2100 (also known as 3g)

Since you did not list the model number of your phone, I will have to take an educated guess and say that your phone will NOT work in Japan. All the Dopod models I am aware of are GSM only, not GSM/WCDMA.
