  1. you just need to get a resistor it wil limit the amount of voltage goes to the horn

  2. load resistor..   or power diode..  either will work..

how you work it out is..   find the resistance of the horn,, multi meter will measure it if you know someone that has one..

lets say its  3 ohms..    the voltage it runs on is 6 V.  so by ohms law

the horn draws 2 amps..   ohms law     (  voltage =  resistance multiplied by amps)

therefore you would need a 3 ohm resistor capable of carrying 2 amps

you conect this in series with the horn & it works on 12V..

  3. Are we talking AC or DC here?  I've seen many an old scooter be converted to 12vac and the old 6v horn work fine (not that they worked great to begin with). You can buy 12vdc horns for $8-10 new I think.  Would be the perfect time to upgrade to a PIAA 115db "hey idiot get off the cell phone" horn.

  4. dont be silly, why go through this. just put a 12 volt horn on, there cheap. throw the other out !

  5. If you do it will only last a short time>Wrong voltage>

  6. Use 2 in series.

  7. The guy above me is right but you can probably get one at an auto store.
