I just bought one because I heard that it was a good natural remedy for asthma. But now I'm not quite sure what to do with it. I put it next to my bed at night so it is an inch or two from my face. I also take off the leaves and breathe it in.

  1. From this site: http://www.asthmainformationguide.com/na...

"Applying balm of Gilead, eucalyptus oil, cinnamon oil or clove oil to the chest and back also helps in better breathing. It is important that the essential oils are mixed with a base oil - sesame would be the best for those with dry or infection type asthma or mustard for those with congestion type asthma."

  2. The vapors of eucalyptus might make you feel like you can breathe better, but it's just a feeling.  That being said, one of the biggest causes of asthma attacks is panic or anxiety so even just the feeling of easier breathing would potentially help.  Whatever you do, do not try to replace your doctor ordered treatments with eucalyptus.
