How can I use my 28x optical zoom video camera to make claymations? Do I need a specific wire?

If I do need a certain wire to hook my camera up to my computer what kind of wire? And if I can't hook my 28x optical zoom video camera to my computer what video camera could I use?

  1. use a good quality digital still camera. the problem with video cameras are they are all automatic, so exposure settings and focus might change between shots. A still camera has manual controls that allow matching the previous settings for each shot.  For claymation, you don't need to shoot 30 frames per second, "double shot" works just as well (shoot 15 frames per second of program, use each frame twice to get 30 fps total) and when action is low, triple or quad shooting will work also.


  2. Your better off using a digital still camera. You will need 30 shots for one second of video. Good luck!!
