  1. You cannot, only the index's.   You can obtain a certificate by paying for it.

  2. It's not possible, either free or paying.

  3. you can't

  4. i wish it were possible - but sadly not but you can order them for seven pound from the register office in that area

  5. You cant,  here in this country we are governed by the "Data Protection Act". I doubt very much that this kind of information will ever be available to the public.

    Hope this helps.

  6. You'd think that now the system is basically computerised it would be quite easy to bring up a marriage certificate online.  Maybe it would, but as itsjustme as already said, there's this not-so-little problem called the Data Protection Act.  Even if the GRO ever did decide to put certifcates online they would almost certainly follow the Scottish model which would mean that you could only view birth certificates from 100 years ago or more, marriages from 75 years ago or more and deaths from 50 years ago or more.  And even if they did put up these certificates online, you would definately have to pay for them.  I actually wouldn't mind the early English records going up online at a paysite, but as for recent records - you've no chance.  Not now, not ever.  Privacy laws are going to get a lot stricter before they get any easier.  At the moment, it's still quite easy to apply for a birth, marriage or death certificate, even one that is not your own.  I wouldn't be surprised if that rule changes, and they won't issue a certificate unless you can provide all the given information.  That should make this hobby a lot easier - not (!!!)
