  1. You could be retaliated against for asking to view complaints. Police protect their own and a false arrest would probaly happen within a month.

    If a police officer has fabricated a story and roughed you up you have no way of disproving it except by finding other people that it has happened to. Substantiated complaints are generally ignored or never recorded.  


  2. Typically you issue an open records request with the city he works for to see his personnel file.  

  3. You can not the cops keep that kind of stuff hid from the public.

  4. Most complaints are confidential

  5. You can't....complaints go into a Internal Affairs file that comes under a different sets of laws and rules and are not open to the public or media....The only file open to the media and sometimes a person with good cause is the Personnel file
