Here's the situation.

I want to visit my dad''s (parents divorced). But, my mom had made plans for the weekend to when she can take us ahead of time. My brother offered to take us, but my dad said no since my brother just got his license. My mom suggest him driving and picking us up, but we live a 6 hour drive, and with gas prices, that's too much (the plan was to meet half way at first) What can we do?

Please answer!

  1. Meeting half way is the best way if your in a money situation i know thats what i have to do to c my fiancee saying im always out on the oil fields

  2. Why don't you take the train? Costs FAR less, you can relax the whole journey and it's faster. Then your Dad can come pick you up from the station. Simple and you get to spend as much time with him as you want.

    :)

  3. Well if it's a struggle because of gas, maybe your parents can set up a web-cam so you can talk on-line.   It's not the same as in person but it's a compromise.  Good luck and be blessed.  As to the Greyhound or Train, if your mom asked the company they will have the driver or staff onboard the train look after you and your sibling.  I know how you feel, as I didn't even know my dad until I was 15 and had to take a train to go see him in another state.  I was scared.

  4. You could take a train ride, like the answerer above me said, or even a Greyhound bus. Those would both be good ideas. =)

Other than that, meeting half way would be the best idea. Is there anyone who could drive you halfway to your dad's place?

    EDIT:

Would your older brother agree to chaperone you on a Greyhound?

Greyhounds are actually cheaper than a train.
