And by that, I also mean...

Will they allow a 13-year-old from California volunteer somewhere 800 miles away from her home?

  1. I live in Indiana where 44 of our 92 counties were declared disasters. If you contact anyone in state government (governor or lt. governor) in the place that you want to go to, they can tell you how you can help. Go online and type in the name of the state. For example... Iowa State Government - and it will pull up the main numbers for their state government switchboard.

I applaud you for having the motivation and compassion to use yourself to help others. You're quite an example.

  2. red cross, fundraisers in your home state, dept. of human services, disaster relief would be my suggestions. i also commend you for you concern and willingness to help others. it shows there is still hope for our country.

  3. They probably won't allow a 13y.o. to travel unaccompanied.  But you can try to see what they will allow you to do.  Contact the Red Cross, maybe organizing a Fundraiser Event in California which you can manage at home would be a better option?  You could also check the State Website or Chamber of Commerce to see what type of help they specifically need.
