  1. because they let profesonal athletes play, question should be why doesnt MLB let players play in the olympics, thats why there will not be baseball in London or any other possibly, is because they dont have the good players playin in the olypmics

  2. Because the International Olympic Committee leaves the question of professional participation up to the international federation of each sport. For example, FIBA has decided that professional basketball players may compete in the Olympic Games (as has IIHF for hockey players, FIFA for football players, and IBAF for baseball players).

I'm not sure what you're so confused about.

  3. They are allowed. It's not against the rules in basketball.

  4. The Olympics hasn't been about amateurs for years and years.

  5. All of the european teams use professional athletes. Why should America not do the same.

  6. Go back to late 80's, early 90's the USA (after losing consecutively for a few years) reversed their position on allowing professional athletes to compete for Team USA since Russia, China, Great Britain, Spain, etc. were all doing it.  How come you're not complaining about Dirk Nowitzki playing for Germany, or Pau Gasol playing for Spain, or Yao Ming playing for China?  Are they not in the NBA too?  Where have you been for the last 2 decades?

  7. All the teams have NBA players.

  8. r u serious?

what about the other players they aren't

    professional players?
