How can Melbourne Demons turn their season around? Should Daniher be sacked?

As a Dees supported I'm shattered by our recent poor form. Last season we were a tough tackling team. It seems we win or lose games in succession depending on the teams confidence.

  1. no i honestly dont think that the dees will win a premiership in the next 2 years but look at carlton and essendon, last yr they both finished last two positions on the ladder but now they are both looking top 8 and iam sure that with a few good draft picks and possibly a new coach they can return to being a good footy side

  2. You're missing a few very handy players at the moment!!!  Sacking Daniher now won't help them out, but a few middle tier players (3-4 years experience) seem to have stagnated in their development.  These days that's a major problem.

  3. Personally I think that simply sacking a staff member, especially a coach, does the team no justice. Yes, many believe it is a fresh start with new tactics, but it doesn't change the skills, talents and performances of a majority of players, therefore not making much difference in game outcomes.

It actually means more adjusting for the players to get used to their new coach, and it may take the coach a while to work out what is best for the team and the strengths and weaknesses of players. I hate  it how fans and the media blame the failures of a team on the coach - it is the easy way out.

Melbourne need to find out what kind of game plans suits them. Many teams tend to copy successful teams, such as teams using the West Coast Eagles hand balling and fast running tactics, instead of finding what is best for that particular group of players. They should get their form back soon, they need to work together, respect other teams and experiment more. It is only early in the season and anything can happen.

  4. no!

  5. Sacking the coach is not the answer, I know you just put it there for debate and discussion. Melbourne has too many injuries to too many star players.

Its bound to happen to any club at any stage during the season.

What if West Coast sitting at the top of the table 3/4 way thru the season and then they get hit with injuries to half their team, should they sack the coach if they miss the top 8. No they will not sack him.

  6. That's right blame the coach when the team is doing c**p. IT'S THE PLAYERS THAT PLAY. Not the COACH.
