How can New Belgium justify donating $1 per barrel of beer sold to environmental and community causes?

Humans, acting alone or in groups, have an amazing way of justifying anything they want to do. Case in point--waterboarding.

The same way as other corporations justify donating a percentage of sales

-Without cooperate donations many small community organizations would cease to exist

--The governments aren't going to do it

-We have cooperate sponsors that support kids recreational programs entirely

Besides it's good PR and an inexpensive way to get your name out there

Should it be more or less. It's not there fault if people overindulge in Beer. A good will gesture like this is great maybe it should be more but they're not obliged to to this at all.
